Symptom Note AI is a personal note-taking app that helps you log symptoms and generate prompts you can use to prepare for a doctor's visit. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. All data you enter into the App is stored only on your device.

1. Information We Collect and Process

1-1. Information you enter in the App (local-only; never sent to our servers)

• Profile info: name/label, relation (self, child, parent, spouse, other), age group, sex (optional), notes (allergies, medications, conditions, etc.)
• Symptom records: primary body area, symptom tags, discomfort level (1–10), onset time, free-form notes.

This data is stored only in a local database on your device. It is never sent to an external server or cloud. Deleting the App deletes this data.

1-2. Automatically processed information (ad-related)

The following information is automatically collected and processed by the Google AdMob SDK while the App is running.

• Advertising identifier (AAID / IDFA): used by Google AdMob to serve ads.
• Technical app information: device type, OS version, language, etc. (standard AdMob SDK scope).
• Ad consent state (UMP): personalization consent for users in the EEA / UK / Switzerland.
• App Tracking Transparency decision (iOS): whether tracking was allowed or denied.

All external communication is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).

1-3. Information you choose to share externally

If you copy a generated prompt and paste it into an external AI service such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, that data is sent to the service by you. The App does not connect to external AIs directly. In that case the external service's privacy policy applies.

2. Permissions

• Microphone (optional): used to voice-input symptom and profile notes. Speech recognition runs on-device when supported. When the device does not support on-device recognition, the OS's built-in speech recognition service (Android/iOS) handles processing. The App itself does not store or transmit audio data.
• Speech recognition (iOS, optional): runs on-device when supported. When on-device recognition is unavailable, the OS's built-in speech recognition service handles processing. The App itself does not store or transmit audio data.
• Internet: used only to serve ads and to display the consent form.
• Advertising identifier access: used for ad personalization and opt-out controls.

3. Entrustment of Personal Data Processing

We entrust the processing of personal data to the following providers as part of delivering this service.

4. International Data Transfers

The following data is transferred internationally for ad-serving purposes.

• Recipient: Google LLC
• Destination country: United States
• Data transferred: Advertising ID (AAID / IDFA), device and app technical information, ad interactions
• Timing and method: Transmitted via network communication each time the App requests an ad
• Purpose: Ad serving, fraud prevention, performance measurement
• Retention: Subject to Google's data retention policy

5. Retention and Deletion

• Data you enter is stored only on your device and is deleted immediately when you remove a record in-app or uninstall the App.
• Advertising identifier data is retained according to Google's retention policy.

6. Your Rights

• You may delete any record or profile at any time inside the App.
• Users in the EEA / UK / Switzerland can change ad personalization consent anytime under Settings → "Ad preferences".
• iOS: withdraw tracking permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Android: reset the advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in System Settings → Privacy → Ads.

7. Medical Disclaimer

This App does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, medication recommendations, or emergency assessment. It is a reference tool to help you organize symptoms and prepare for appointments. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional for all medical decisions.

8. Minors

This App is intended for users aged 18 and older. If a minor uses the App, it must be with guardian consent and supervision. The App does not maintain separate user accounts, and all data is stored locally on the device.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
